Caramel Pear Cobbler

Fresh-baked caramel pear cobbler is just about one of the most beautiful sites on your kitchen counters. It’s the perfect way to use up fresh or store-bought pears that you want to get creative with. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Peel and dice the pears. Place the pear chunks, water, and ground cinnamon in your skillet over medium heat. Cook for a few minutes until the pears begin to soften and release their own juices.

Sprinkle the pears with the flour, and cook for one minute, stirring constantly.

Add the caramel sauce, and cook for a few minutes to thicken. Remove from heat, and transfer to an oven-safe dish if necessary.

In a separate bowl, stir all of the crumble topping ingredients together. Sprinkle the topping over the filling in an even layer.

Finally, bake, uncovered, for 25-30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. Enjoy!

Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. For best care of your cast iron skillet, transfer leftovers to a glass container before refrigerating.

Substitutions

  • To make this recipe gluten-free, be sure to use a gluten-free flour and verify that your oats are also free of gluten.
  • You can omit either the oats or the flour from the crumble topping, and just double the one that you are using if you need to.
  • You can add or remove any spices that you like. (Maybe try a pumpkin spice blend!)

Can I freeze cobbler?
